Chapter 25 â Heath
âHEATH, I REALLY NEED some new shoes to go with my dress for tonight.â
Marie was standing in the doorway to my room. I looked up from my books, took her in. Short shapely legs: she was wearing one of my tee-shirts and nothing else. I could see her thighs. Her round breasts were hugged tight in the tee-shirt. Her hair was messy from sleep and fell down her back. Her face was round with plump cheeks. Her eyes were like two dark almonds.
âWhere are you going tonight? I thought we had the BBQ with Paul and Kathy?â I was sure I had my days right. I was looking forward to it, Paul had Sky and we were going to watch the All-Blacks match.
âOh my god Heath, how many times do I have to tell you! I am going out with Carol! Remember there is a new bar on Element Street. Seriously itâs like you never listen to me.â
I know it is the rugby tonight; itâs the final we must kick the Springbokâs butt. âSorry babe, I must have forgotten. I was planning on watching the rugby with Paul.â
âWell, I donât care about the rugby, or Kathy for that matter. You can go watch the rugby with them, I am going shopping with Carol and then to the clubs with her tonight.â
She had crossed her arms, covering up the outline of her boobs. Her knee was shot out at a sharp angle.
âPlease donât spend too much, we have the electricity bill coming out this week. I need some help paying as I was short a shift last week. Remember I had to go look after Ruaâs kids?â
âI donât know why you donât tell him no. We need the money more. I wish you would hurry up and finish your degree so you can work full time and actually make some decent cash.â
I sighed. âMarie, you know what I have to do. This is my dream to be a teacher. Anyway, itâs only another 6 months and I am finished.â I grabbed hold of Marieâs arm pulling her in closer for a hug. I wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my head into her sweet-smelling hair.
âI know, I know. I would just like to be able to go and buy things without having to make sure we have enough to pay your mum for every bill.â Marieâs eyes softened. We had moved back into Mumâs house about 8 months ago so we could save money and help mum out. Dad was getting sick, and no longer able to work. Mum became his full-time care giver. We wanted to make sure she was ok and was able to afford to pay for everything.
I let Marie go and turned back to my books. Marie leaned in and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
âOk, babe. I will only get the cheap shoes or see if I can borrow a pair from Carol.â Marie left the room to go and have a shower, I could hear her humming away.
